The stakes are breaking off the traps left and right with the frozen ground, there are only small tack welds holding them on. weld needs to be much larger or longer. I bearlly kick them and the bottom stake has broken off.

Ron, we had a few problems with a welder setting. ship them back and they will be repaired or replaced. FYI that tab punched out in the base is to be used in conjunction with a 3/16″ rod for frozen ground. the rod can be driven in the frozen ground and trap slid onto it through the tab stamped into support. Click on the picture of the Coon Dagger on the web site for a dropdown pictures showing the support installed. You should never install the trap in the ground when expecting freezing temps. As if a raccoon gets caught they will usually twist out.
